Al Gore is trying to kill me...

It is a sad day when a Nobel Peace Prize is given to someone for ENVIRONMENTAL reasons. What has Al Gore done that constitutes world peace? While I am not going to start a debate about global warming, I do want to bring one issue to light...

A few months ago I went to the pharmacy to pick up an asthma inhaler. Attached to my implement of insufflation was an alarming epistle. They would no longer be supplying the same inhalers.

The typical albuterol inhaler that asthmatics have used until now had a CFC propellant. Apparently someone at the FDA and EPA decided that they would limit the supplies of CFC so that drug companies would have no choice but to use HFA propellants. All CFC propellant inhalers will be removed from the market Dec 31,2008. (And contrary to what the FDA says, the HFA propellant inhalers DO NOT work as well.)

The ironic twist in all this is, I have allergy based asthma. So by saving the environment, they are making my symptoms worse! Added to the fact that I will no longer be able to obtain the inhalers that I have come to rely on in the past, is it any wonder that I think Al Gore and his entourage of dapper hippies is out to get me?

As droves of asphyxiated asthmatics make a haphazard run for the pharmacy, no one has heard any complaints from them. Perhaps it is because, what without the ability to breathe properly, we can't speak loud enough.

One would think that when they decide to discontinue CFC propellants, that they would at least research to find one that works AS WELL as CFC, but I guess to them it doesn't matter if thousands suffer, as long as our war-ravaged planet lingers on....it's for the good of the Earth!

Bastards..........
